Well, it has been a long while. Been busy. Haven't installed the latest firmware update yet. Camera seems to be working perfectly for me just as it is.

I made these images last Sunday during the Short Cuts at The Woodman which was a Sydenham Arts Festival event. Unfortunately my film didn't screen due to technical issues which were completely my own fault. But I learnt important lessons so that's good.

I've got it back from repair. It's even better then before as they tweaked it some.

More pictures to follow later this morning. Please stay tuned.

I had the camera for just four weeks when it malfunctioned. Most unfortunate. I could not use it during my coverage of the Royal Wedding as I had hoped. But my trusty Nikon D200 system and Olympus Pen stepped up to the plate admirably.

The shutter in the viewfinder somehow managed to get stuck halfway thereby rendering the optical viewfinder partially blinded.

However, tomorrow I get the camera back. I need to pick it up from the post office depot on my way to the dentist whom I've not visited for almost 20 years, dare I say.

More pictures soon.

Connor, age six in the communal garden area at the back of our house

An airborne Eoin, age nine

There's quite a good discussion going on right now over at BURN MAGAZINE about this wee camera. It's worth a read.

I like this shot of Spiderman's shadow appearing to kick my son, Connor in the head.
He and his brother, Eoin will draw pictures anywhere they can providing they have materials to match the available surface.

This is the best I could come up with today. Wasn't really seeing good pictures but I do like this one.
It was the warmest day so far this year and this dude was letting his dog walk along in the gully to keep cool.

I have found my perfect camera. I just can't get enough of this thing. It's brilliant.

These are in-camera processed jpegs from Fuji raw, exported to my PhotoShelter archive directly from within Aperture. Quick and simple workflow though I do look forward to a good plugin processor. There's little point in shooting jpegs with a camera like this. Best shoot raw to get the very best out of it and in-camera processing is terrific. I now have three batteries for this camera and so in-camera processing is easy. I don't have to worry about running out of power.

Three of Connor pulling faces

These three were shot as jpeg and processed using the Quick Adjustment button in Aperture. Nothing sophisticated. In a few days I'll post properly shot and processed raw files. More pictures shortly.

This is an unprocessed jpeg straight out of the camera. Would have liked to shoot a raw but I can't be arsed messing with SilkyPix, or whatever it's called. Would prefer to wait for an Aperture converter for this camera's raw files.

But the jpegs this thing makes are amazing. Sharp. Nicely saturated. Altogether sumptuous.

I'll write more later.
